Delivery of AGV Solution to American Navistar Inc.

EA Mobile Robotics has delivered several AGV systems to American Navistar. Navistar produces International® commercial trucks, proprietary diesel engines, and IC Bus® school buses, as well as commercial buses.

The first delivery of AGVs to the factory in Huntsville, Alabama, occurred in 2021, and since then, AGVs have been delivered throughout 2022 and 2023. The deliveries include systems for both assembly lines and production-related logistics. The systems consist of a significant number of AGVs, fixtures, and central units for both the control of AGVs and communication with other systems and equipment.

“We look forward to taking full responsibility in an environment with high demands for availability, ergonomics, and safety. Navistar chose automation solutions based on the AGV concept instead of fixed installations to create flexible production layouts that can meet future needs,” says Pär Knutsson, Sales Manager at EA Mobile Robotics, emphasizing that EA Mobile Robotics’ previous successful projects with similar requirements were decisive.

The deal was signed after extensive investigative work, including the evaluation of pilot equipment. Hardware and software are tailored to specific needs defined by Navistar.
